INFORMATION LITERACY (LAB)
INFORMATION LITERACY (LAB)
Knowledge is Power
Knowledge is the fuel of our era's advancement. Without knowledge, there will be no progress in our world. It gives us the information that we need in order to live our daily life with ease. An example of this would be knowledge about the schedule of the train. If you know what time the next train or bus would come then you would not keep wondering and you would do things based on that knowledge and not on chance. It gives the rider the power when to come to the station because of his/her knowledge about the train schedule. Another example would be the machines that we use today that ranges from cars to computers to machineries in factories. Yes we could build them but we cannot operate them fully functional if we do not have the knowledge to do so. Knowledge makes us capable of doing things. It makes us aware and responsible for actions thus we do things more carefully and that's why knowledge is power.
Giving Credit to the Source of one's work
There are many reasons why you should give credit to one's work. 1) You show them respect by giving them credit for their work. 2) It improves the credibility of the work or article. 3) Avoid legal issues such as Plagiarism. 4) Acknowledge the work and the creator themselves. Those are some of the reason to why you should give credit to one's work. Of course you don't want others to take credit for your work so you should do the same for them.

Essay About Information Literate Individual
Our era is all about technology and information. When there is advancement in all categories, there is also advancement in information. Those who benefit from these innovations know information. Without information, they couldn’t do most of the things that they can do today. Through this information they can be considered as an information literate individual. But what classifies an individual to be information literate?
According to Stanford University, Information Literacy can be defined as “Information literacy forms the basis for lifelong learning. It is common to all disciplines, to all learning environments, and to all levels of education. It enables learners to master content and extend their investigations, become more self-directed, and assume greater control over their own learning”. Based from the meaning itself, it is the basis for lifelong learning. Information literate individuals use information as their foundation for their learning. Learning is a step-by-step process and once you absorb information it is the start of your journey in learning things. As stated, it enables learners to master content. There is no limit when you try to be information literate. Information evolves so does your knowledge. Being able to cope up with such changes makes you up-to-date and that is what being information literate means, to know when there is a need for information and to effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand.
